The casting of True Detective‘s second season has been a hot topic of conversation since the finale of the seasonal crime anthology’s first season. The first season surprised many with the casting of its A-list leads Woody Harrelson and Matthew McConaughey, which was only strengthened by the brilliant portrayal of the nihilistic Agent Rust Cohle by McConaughey. A meme quickly took root that involved the tweeting of random iconic duos with the hash-tag #TrueDetectiveSeason2.
Season 2 Casting has come. First we had confirmation that both Collin Farrell and Vince Vaughn had been cast, with Farrell in a lead role as a Detective, and Vaughn playing a Gangster tied into the crime this season will investigate. Then we had rumors of Rachel McAdams and Taylor Kitsch in roles as Police Officers. McAdams was all but confirmed, but Kitsch was still an unknown, until now. Taylor Kitsch has officially joined the cast of True Detective‘s second season.
Kitsch will be playing Paul Woodrugh, a Veteran with a history of violence.
