True Dectective’s second season is coming together as IGN and Hitflix are reporting two more casting announcements for the second season of HBO’s drama series. True Blood star Ashley Hinshaw will appear as a troubled starlet according to IGN’s report while Rick Springfield has announced that he’s joined True Detective on twitter according to Hitflix’s report.
No word on what role he’ll play in the drama’s new season but Springfield has dabbled in acting before appearing as Dr Noah Drake on General Hospital. Both Join Taylor Kitsch, Colin Farrell, Rachel McAdams and Vince Vaughn and while not much is known about the plot for the upcoming season we do know that Farrell, McAdams and Kitsch play three police officers while Vaughn plays a career criminal who must navigate a web of conspiracy in the aftermath of a murder. True Detective’s second season will once again be written by show creator Nick Pizzolatto while multiple directors will direct the season’s various episodes. Fast and the Furious helmer Justin Lin has been tapped to direct several episodes.
