The wait is almost over, Season 5 of Game of Thrones now has an official premiere date. On April 12th, 2015, we will catch up with our old friends Jon, Arya, Tryion, and the rest as we travel to the 7 kingdoms of Westeros, and across the narrow sea.
Season 4 of Game of Thrones ended with Tyrion and Arya leaving their hostile homes in Westeros behind and boarding ships to parts unknown. Jon Snow defended the wall against the wildlings and met up with Stannis Baratheon and the red witch. Over the narrow sea, Daenerys struggle with her position of power in the conquered city of Meereen.
Season 5 of Game of Thrones is promising to take us to Dorn, the homeland of Oberyn “The Red Viper” Martell, who lost his life late in the 4th season to Gregor “The Mountain” Clegane. We will get to meet Oberyn’s family, including his infamous and deadly bastard daughters the “sand snakes”.
This month, 150 select IMAX screens will be showing the last 2 episodes of season 4 of Game of Thrones along with an exclusive season 5 trailer, all remastered for IMAX screens.
