IGN is reporting that during the Television Critics Association press tour Chris Albrecht the head of cable channel Starz gave a few new updates on the hotly anticipated Ash Vs Evil Dead series. Speaking to the press Albrecht explained why the series episodes will only be a half hour instead of a full hour like most genre programming. Albrecht said “The half hour idea was their idea. And I can tell you it’s a chock-full half hour.” Their referring to Sam Raimi and Rob Tapert who are producing the series for Starz.
Albrecht also revealed that the series will be filmed in New Zealand but set in America which meant they had to import cars and signs. When pressed for a premiere date Albrecht mentioned the fourth quarter of 2015 as the most likely premiere date. Ash Vs The Evil Dead reunites director Sam Raimi with star Bruce Cambell and see’s cult hero Ash tasked with saving the world from evil once again.
