IGN has learned that cable channel A&E is adapting Swedish vampire story Let the Right One In as a pilot for a potential series. Teen Wolf showrunner Jeff Davis developed the pilot which A&E won in a bidding war with Showtime. The horror-drama was originally a Swedish novel by author John Ajvide Lindqvist it has since been adapted into a Swedish film and an English remake titled Let Me In which was released in 2010.
The story focuses on a child vampire and her guardian living in Vermont where a strange series of murders attracts a federal Marshall with a mysterious past. A&E has previously found success in adapting another popular suspense thriller into a series with Bates Motel as the cable channel looks to shore up it’s lineup of original programming. The new series is still in the development stage and actor/screenwriter Brandon Boyce is helping Jeff Davis adapt the story for television.
