Arrested development will be returning with new episodes according to executive producer Byran Grazer Variety reports. In an interview recently Grazer said the series is set to return with 17 new episodes that are being produced. The comedy series was picked up by Netflix for a fourth series in May 2013 seven years after Fox had cancelled the series. Arrested Development creator Mitch Hurwitz inked a multi year deal with Netflix last year to produce, develop and create new projects under his production company with Netflix.
It seems that this new round of Arrested Development was one of those projects. Despite Grazer’s comments Netflix has declined to comment on whether or not the show is coming back and a spokesman for 20th Century Fox has said that there’s nothing firm to announce at this time. Should Arrested Development return for a fifth season it’ll be interesting to see if they can bring the cast back together as that was not possible for the fourth season and so the scenes for everyone were shot separately.
