Marvel and Netflix have announced that recently launched series Daredevil is set to receive a second season IGN reports. It was previously unknown whether or not the critically praised show would receive a second season due to it being part of a larger framework involving other series. No date has been set for Daredevil’s return but when it does so it’ll return sans showrunner Stephen S DeKnight who was in charge of the series first season. Instead Daredevil writers Doug Petrie and Marco Ramirez will take over showrunning duties for season 2.
DeKnight explained on Twitter that a previous feature film commitment is the reason he can’t be around for season 2. It’s possible that DeKnight will return in the future or maybe even for another project such as The Defenders but for the time being he is out. Netflix has not at this time divulged the ratings for Daredevil but they must be pleased given this news.
